About Colorado Christian University

With a heritage dating back to 1914, Colorado Christian University is committed to offering a complete education that develops students intellectually, professionally, and spiritually. As the only member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities located in the mainline Rocky Mountains region, and just a few minutes from downtown Denver, CCU is uniquely positioned to offer students a distinctive variety of educational opportunities and experiences.

CCU is fully accredited (see below) and offers both undergraduate and graduate programs designed to equip students to become leaders in their careers, communities, families, and in the world. CCU students are enrolled at the main campus near Denver, at satellite locations throughout Colorado, as well as being enrolled in our online degree programs.

Colorado Christian University is very different from the typical American university. Not only does a CCU education prepare students for positions of significant leadership in the church, business, education, government, and many other strategic disciplines, it also gives students significant opportunities to serve our Lord while they are at CCU, helping them develop a lifetime habit of service to God's Kingdom. Our curricula supports an engaging learning environment where students think for themselves, contemplate and interact with today's ideas and theories. Our professors challenge their students to integrate their faith into their chosen disciplines, while helping them gain knowledge and develop skills that will prepare them to be successful in their careers.

Additional Information for Distance Learners

Receive Credit for Previous Work

We understand that adult learners come to class with a wealth of knowledge. You have already served your country in the military, established your professional career, or taken courses at other colleges. CCU rewards academic credit for previous training and life experiences so you can complete your degree program sooner.

CCU is unique. If you have completed courses elsewhere, we give you academic credit from a regionally-accredited institution no matter how much time has passed. For our graduate students, we award credit for academic work completed in the last five years.

We work with you to identify previous training and on-the-job career experience to identify areas of learning that may warrant college-level credit.

Our goal is to provide an outstanding education and assist you in completing your program in the shortest amount of time possible.

Start Dates

Online courses begin every five weeks for undergraduate courses. Start dates for graduate courses vary by program.

Federal financial aid is available for qualifying students. Students requiring financial aid are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. Our school code is 009401.

Students enrolled in the associate's or bachelor's degree programs are required to take a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester at Colorado Christian University in order to qualify for federal financial aid except for provisions in the Federal Pell Grant Program that will allow less than half-time students to receive a Pell Grant.

Students enrolled in master's degree programs are required to take a minimum of 3 credit hours per semester at Colorado Christian University in order to qualify for financial aid. Graduate students are not eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant.
