BS - Criminal Justice

Criminal justice careers put you on the front line, protecting and serving your community. This program provides an overview of public safety research, theory and principles, with a focus on criminal justice processes and procedures. Course work includes such topics as corrections and judicial systems, criminal law and the legal process, police-community relations, white collar and organized crime investigations, and criminal procedure and evidence.

With your Bachelor's in Public Service from Capella, you'll learn to use effective crime investigation techniques, apply law enforcement principles and understand the organizational relationships between the criminal justice system and communities.

Common jobs with an online Bachelor's in Public Service include border patrol agent, corrections officer, county sheriff, customs agent, detective, drug enforcement administration agent, FBI agent, loss prevention specialist, park ranger, parole officer or police officer. Potential workplaces include: corporate security and investigation, correctional facility or prison, federal government agency, law enforcement agency, municipal court system, parole or probation agency, or state government agency.
