DBA - Business Intelligence

Prepare yourself to become a leader in business intelligence and complete an applied dissertation project that allows you to make an immediate, practical contribution to your organization. Capella's online DBA in Business Intelligence curriculum incorporates information technology management, information science, quantitative analysis, decision science, and management science into a single specialization focused on strategic and tactical decision making in such areas as data warehousing, modeling and analysis.

With your DBA in Business Intelligence from Capella, you'll learn to assess the information needs for a business decision situation and identify and access the appropriate sources for that information, integrate internal and external data needed to support evidence-based decision-making, and analyze information gathered for decision support using the appropriate quantitative and qualitative research techniques. Additionally, you'll demonstrate approaches to the presentation of decision support information that are both ethical and effective.

You'll also have the opportunity to participate in Capella's international experience. This optional trip is designed to provide multinational networking, increased cultural literacy and global operations learning experience.

Online courseroom discussions, specially designed networking sites, and face-to-face weekend residencies provide ongoing opportunities to build professional relationships and share knowledge with other business leaders around the country. A prescribed course sequence, built-in dissertation milestones, and supportive mentoring create a clear path toward completing the program in 3 years.
