PhD - Accounting

This online PhD program in Accounting features a comprehensive core curriculum focused on research, scholarly writing, ethical theory, a global perspective, technology and systems thinking. By developing advanced knowledge in accounting research, practice, and education, you can gain a deep understanding of how accounting practice can improve the many interrelated issues, processes, and functions of business organizations. With intensive instruction in electronic research technologies, specialized courses, and in-person learning experiences, you'll prepare to conduct efficient, effective global research. You'll also evaluate advanced theoretical constructs, standards, and techniques of accounting practice; analyze strategic implications of accounting issues; and conduct scholarly research that contributes to the field of accounting.

With your PhD in Accounting from Capella, you'll evaluate evolving conceptual models, theoretical frameworks, and technological and organizational systems and their implications for accounting theory and practice. You'll also assess ethical, legal, and regulatory frameworks that guide accounting theory and practice.
