What They’re Known For
Drexel University is best known for its research and experiential learning, but is equally renowned for being one of the oldest and most successful providers of online education in the nation. Located in the heart of Philadelphia, the university currently offers 70 full-time undergraduate programs and accelerated degrees, along with a myriad of master's and doctoral degree programs.
Drexel has been offering online degrees since 1996, and in 2002, the university created its online education program, Drexel University Online.
The university's online degree programs, including master's degrees, bachelor's degrees and certificate programs, are equal in both content and rigor to the courses offered on campus, and are taught by the same tenured professors.
Its online offerings are geared to both the working professional who wants to better his or her career and the traditional student starting out in life.
The online Doctor of Nursing Practice program is one of Drexel's most unique online offerings, developed by Drexel University's nationally-ranked College of Nursing and Health Professionals.
A number of special tuition programs are available to online students, including Drexel alums, military vets and employers of partner organizations.
Why We Love Drexel University:
Drexel Online is not only accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, but in 2010 it received the Sloan-C award for institution-wide excellence in online education, and before that was given the United States Distance Learning Association's Best Practices Award for Distance Learning Programming.
U.S. News & World Report ranked Drexel 83rd among all universities in the United States and third on its "Best Colleges: Up-and-Coming National Universities" list.
