Hope International University (HIU) is a private Christian University founded in 1928 that prepares students with a Christ-centered education integrating faith, service, and learning. Our mission is to empower students through Christian higher education to serve the Church and impact the world for Christ. HIU provides students with a leadership and ethics focused education in service-based professions through undergraduate and graduate degree programs, offered both on campus in the west coast states of California and Washington, or 100 percent online from anywhere in the world.
Online learning with HIU allows you to take courses from virtually anywhere in the world, any time you have access to the Internet. Through HIU Online, you can interact with professors and other students while taking advantage of the state of the art learning resources at the place and time that best fits your busy schedule. Our online support makes learning off-campus convenient and easily accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Courses include video lectures from professors, "real time" chat, discussion forums, and assignment drop boxes to make your learning experience as enjoyable and convenient as possible. It truly is a unique and efficient way to attend class.
Every course contains within it a common thread that emphasizes students having a positive impact on the world and the workplace in which they serve. Our graduates go on to lead lives of impact and servant leadership in their communities because of the growth they experienced while at HIU.
HIU offers a dynamic, personalized education that encourages intellectual, social, physical and spiritual development delivered by a faculty and staff dedicated to the ultimate success of each graduate. Our class sizes are small, and our faculty to student ratio ensures the kind of individualized instruction students deserve.
Courses begin every five weeks, ensuring you maximum convenience when selecting a program start date.
Hope uses the latest eCollege™ software, which allows you to download course materials, access library resources, submit assignments, interact with students and professors and contribute to ongoing class discussions. This supportive, student-centered learning environment enables you to collaborate with fellow learners in multiple time zones.
eCompanion is a separate Web site Hope online students visit to receive posted syllabus, resources, assignments and other materials for each course. The advent of this amazing technology has transformed online education into a truly interactive, personal way to learn. Through the eCompanion, professors can do virtually anything they could do in a face-to-face classroom setting. Online courses typically include:
