Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education - Illinois Type 04 Certification Preparation

Kendall's Early Childhood Education bachelor's degree program leading to certification includes field experiences and student teaching components at both the pre-primary and primary levels. The program prepares you to apply for the Illinois Type 04 Teacher Certification. This certifcation qualifies you to teach Pre-K through Grade 3, or work with children from birth through age eight in environments where certification is required. Choose to earn your degree online, on campus or combine your online courses with campus instruction with Kendall's hybrid format. Choose one format or mix them to suit your schedule and learning preferences. Kendall also offers four Early Childhood Education concentrations - Childhood Nutrition, English as a Second Language (ESL), Infants and Toddlers or Special Education. By concentrating in Special Education, and completing the required coursework, you will be able to apply for an Early Childhood Special Education approval on your certification. Those who complete the ESL concentration, plus additional cousework, will be eligible to apply for an ESL or Bilingual endorsement on their Illinois Type 04 Certificate.
