Psychology is the study of behavior and mental processes. The courses required for the 36-hour major reflect the diversity of the many subfields in psychology and are designed to provide students with a well rounded education in the discipline while allowing sufficient room for electives. Graduates are prepared for advanced study in psychology and related disciplines as well as employment in entry-level professional positions in human service settings and mental health facilities. A psychology major is also good preparation for careers in law, personnel, or sales.
