A Nurse-Midwife offers an alternative to the traditional medical model of care. This program focuses on skills to provide primary care for women throughout life stages including health promotion and disease prevention; health education and counseling; contraceptive management; gynecological care; pre-conception, prenatal, intra-partum, and post-partum care. The MSN in Nurse-Midwifery can be completed in as few as 2 years, and graduates are eligible to sit for certification.

AccreditationThe UC College of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The Nurse Midwifery program is accredited by the ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (formerly ACNM Division of Accreditation).
RequirementsMust hold a current RN license and have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree conferred from a regionally and nursing (NLNAC or CCNE) accredited institution.
