This course will introduce the student to research relative to the integration of technology into K-12 school systems and how to decode and apply research in K-12 technology integration initiatives. Students will also investigate current and future technology advancements in hardware, software, networking, support, and training as well as the impact these advances might have on K-12 schools. Basic issues relating to ethics and equity will also be introduced.
Topics and Objectives include: Debate over Integrating Technology into Classrooms, Overview of the Technology Planning Process, Needs Assessment, Models for the Technology Planning Process, Mission and Vision Statements in the Planning Process, Taxonomy of Instructional Technology, Planning Goals and Objectives, Future Trends in Technology, Goal Implementation in the Planning Process, Staff Development, Evaluation of the Planning Process, and Facilities and Resource Management. |
