Course Title:
Case Studies in Public Relations (JOMC 431)
School:
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - Friday Center
Description:
Contemporary organizations are constantly challenged to manage increasingly complex networks of stakeholder relationships and to negotiate the volatile public opinion environment. Given these demands, effective public relations management requires critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. This course is designed for students of public relations who are familiar with the theory and practice of public relations and are ready to develop a more advanced understanding of the latest techniques in public relations management. Current case studies are used to explore effective public relations management, including research, planning and implementation. The analysis of these case studies is the major learning tool applied in this course. Particular emphasis is given to crisis communication management and issues anticipation.
