Aroma 101 Introduction to Aromatherapy is designed to be fun as well as educational. Your course materials include an organic Essential Oil Kit in Designer Storage Box and access to the interactive, instructor-led, online classroom. This course meets NAHA’s Level One education standards. Upon completion of this course you will be able to discuss aromatherapy, its history, and development; identify and safely use 19 essential oils, from Bergamot Citrus aurantium var. bergamia to Ylang Ylang Cananga odorata, including methods of application; assess the quality of essential oils and understand the primary production methods; describe the physiology of the sense of smell; give an overview of the limbic system, lymphatic system, immune system, and skin, and methods of absorption of essential oils; discuss how essential oils interact on physical and emotional levels; understand the basic chemistry of essential oils, identify contraindications and safety issues; and create a blend and choose from a range of carrier oils.
