This course focuses on the historical survey of struggle for black freedom under American slavery. Civil rights movement in the North and South. Students will concentrate on the abolitionist movement in the North, the history of slavery and the foundations that laid way to antislavery rules in New York. With the use of the slavery and abolitionist documentary collections students will learn first hand the laws and regulations used during this movement.
