We get this question a surprising number of times. We are not an education provider. We do not offer courses, programs or degrees; we only provide you with information about colleges and schools that do offer programs online.

12. What schools do your recommend?
We do not recommend particular online colleges or universities or learning providers. Only you can know which school is right for you. Be sure to carefully consider the wide variety of learning needs and the differences between distance learning providers. For tips on the decision process, refer to our Distance Learning FAQ section. Take your time, compare offerings, and use one of our request forms to get information from those schools that interest you.
13. I need a school for my particular situation
We have received numerous requests of unique individual situations. The majority of specific inquiries include a reason why the person needs distance learning or to study off-site, with information about the subject they wish to study. We suggest you learn about the various types of distance learning that are available, the types of learning providers that offer a particular learning format, and select the one which is best for your particular situation

As mentioned in the above question and answer, there are a wide range of institutions and organizations that offer distance learning. This includes both for-profit and nonprofit colleges and universities, corporations, and nonprofit organizations. eLearners.com includes Carnegie Classification data, which will help you understand what level of degrees a particular college or university in the United States is accredited to grant. 15. What kind of online education is best for me?
There are numerous formats for distance learning and online education, including: asynchronous, synchronous, instructor-led, Web-based instruction, and mentor supported. Each of these types may use a unique combination of delivery and collaboration technologies such as threaded discussions, videos, virtual classrooms, etc. It is important to consider your learning style, personal situation. We believe it is, but also know that online education is not suited to meet every person's individual needs. It really depends on: your learning style, situation; the type of subject you wish to study; the type of distance learning format you choose; and the learning provider you select.

The Internet provides such an exciting way to learn, that over the past few years an entire industry has sprung up to capitalize on this opportunity. It includes thousands of higher education institutions, professional training providers, along with K-12 schools and companies.

Once you have determined which online college or education provider best suits your needs, simply complete a request form. Please be aware that eLearners.com is not itself an education provider.

The cost for enrolling in an online course varies. We try to keep updated cost information on this site, but it gets outdated quickly because of the above factors. To find current pricing on any learning listed on this site, always refer directly to the learning provider's Web site, or request information from the provider using one of our forms (see question 18).
20. Can I request additional information from schools?
Of course you canand should. We can only provide a limited amount of information on the thousands of courses and degrees offered by the higher education institutions or training and continuing education providers. We recommend that once you have narrowed your choices down to a few learning providers, you request more detailed information from them using one of our request forms.
21. Where can I buy textbooks or software?
Consult your online education provider for information about their online student bookstores or recommendations regarding where specific materials may be found. eLearners.com may sell textbooks in the future, until then search the Web.
22. Can you help me do online research?
Once enrolled in an online course, learners often find themselves needing to conduct research over the Web. You may have access to a campus library near your home or a digital library from your college. However, in most cases, you must learn to do research on the Internet. We list a number of research tools and online libraries on our site.
23. I need help finding a job after my program. Can eLearners.com help with that?
