Browse & Search Tips

Browsing | Browse or Search? | Degrees | Schools | Homepage

Browsing Tips :

  • Browsing is simply a search where you navigate through our catalog by selecting the most appropriate categories. At each level you will narrow your search to fewer results.
  • Our directory has three levels
    - Top level categories like Business & MBA
    - Second level subjects like Accounting
    - Third level record pages for each degree & course
  • Use the navigation links in the left hand column to do things like jump between degrees, programs and courses, or to filter by degree level.

Browsing vs. Searching :

  • Browsing is a great way to explore the variety of e-learning offerings that are available.

  • It is also less dependent on your search terms, and may be more likely to help you find something of interest.

  • However, browsing can take much longer than searching.

  • If you are having trouble finding something try both browsing and searching, otherwise use your favorite method.

General Search Tips:

  • Separate all terms with spaces.

  • Do not use quotes or other special characters (*&^%$#@!><:?"}{).

  • Avoid irrelevant terms like 'the', 'and', etc..

Degrees, Programs & Courses Search :

  • Searching from within any tab searches only the listings on that tab. Make sure to start from the correct site tab ( degrees , certificates , courses , schools )

  • You will get better results when you add additional relevant terms to your search.

  • Adding more terms should increase number of results, but also increase the relevancy of your top results.

  • Listings with ALL your terms will be shown at the top, followed by listings with some of your terms.

School Search :

  • Unlike the other two searches, school search searches only a small group of schools - browsing is a good option here.

  • Make sure to try various spellings of your terms.

  • If you do not find your provider, try browsing .

Homepage Search :

  • Unlike searches from any other tab, homepage search will start by searching degrees, and if no results are found it will search other tabs to find possible results.

  • Make sure to try various spellings of your terms.

  • If you do not find your provider, try browsing .
