ECornell recognized for achievement in leadership development

As online learning continues to become mainstream in the higher education sector, more attention is being paid to the institutions that are making a difference in students' education.
Recently, eCornell was named one of the Top 20 Leadership Development Companies at the 2009 Best of eLearning Readers' Choice Awards, according to the Cornell Sun. The institution, which is an online subsidiary of Cornell University, has been working to increase their partnership with other companies in order to offer the best possible curriculum for their students.
Administrators who work with the school told the news provider that they plan to increase their offerings in order to give their students the best possible online learning experience.
"Our plan is to continue strong partnerships with large companies ... [continuing] to reach out to organizations and build partnerships, delivering content and meet their needs ... [continuing] to focus on additional areas where Cornell has strong expertise," Chris Proulx, CEO of eCornell, told the news provider.
Online education continues to be a popular choice for students. According to Reuters, more than 25 percent of college students are enrolled in at least one online class.
