Southeastern's Bachelor of Arts in Practical Theology major is designed to prepare Christians to serve in leadership and support roles at churches and other faith-based organizations. In the practical theology major itself you'll develop a solid foundation in all of ministry, including Biblical interpretation, counseling, and preaching. Southeastern's core religion curriculum includes four practicum courses through which you'll observe, reflect upon, and ultimately implement ministries in churches and other organizations. Your training also will include a 10-week internship where you'll perform the duties of a staff member at church or other faith-based organization. You'll study foundational subjects such as Biblical interpretation, counseling, and preaching, and chose a specialty in which to minor. The minors include: Bible, children's ministry, leadership, missions, pastoral ministry, and youth ministry. The Bachelor of Arts in Practical Theology requires 130 credit hours of course work to complete.
