The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary studies at Schiller International University allows students to choose a major in Interdisciplinary studies to suit their particular needs and interests. Students can develop an interdisciplinary study major after completing their freshman year. The advising faculty member must have knowledge in at least one of the subject areas involved in the selected program of study. The faculty member and the student prepare a tentative outline of courses to submit to the Academics Committee for authorization. If the course is approved, it is placed in the student's permanent file.
Many graduate institutions oblige a standard program of undergraduate study with a declared departmental major. Students who plan to continue their studies beyond the undergraduate level are therefore advised to choose a specific major associated to their graduate field rather than a major in interdepartmental studies.
