The MS in Education with a specialization in Mathematics is designed for middle-level teachers (grades 6 - 8) who want to develop their understanding of foundational mathematical concepts, while motivating their students to improve their mathematic inquiry skills. This online program provides standard pedagogy as well as math content specific courses that align with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards. Lessons are a blend of presentations on CD-ROM and videotape with practical exercises using manipulatives and visual aides. To maximize success for both teachers and students, this program is composed of study teams that collaborate and communicate via online study teams.
