Norwich University's Master of Arts in Military History is designed to present a broad picture of military history. You will gain more than just a study of American military history. You will leave this program with a sophisticated understanding of the framework through which many aspects of historical events and human behavior can be understood, including economics, politics, social issues, international relations, leadership, and group dynamics. The curriculum includes methodology and historiography, an examination of theoretical concepts and debates over frameworks for analyzing warfare in history, and components dealing with American military history, non-western and non-traditional ways of war, military thought and strategy, and topical areas such as total war and race and gender in military history.
