This program is designed for the individual who wishes to complete a health-based interdisciplinary, bachelor of science degree on a full-time or part-time basis for upward career mobility, or to respond to employer requests for broadened health-services skills. The BS in Health Services Management degree will support an expanded professional role with stronger communication skills, enhanced assessment skills, and the ability to better understand and respond to an increasingly diverse community. A maximum of 90 credits can be transferred. Graduates may find mid-level management positions in healthcare organizations including hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory care centers, and home health agencies.
In response to the needs of the healthcare industry, graduates of this program should be able to:
Demonstrate eligibility for management positions in the health services industry;
Write and speak effectively, read and listen critically, and handle learning resources effectively;
Interpret and analyze healthcare and historical data;
Identify the human values which govern responsible moral choice and apply fundamental human beliefs in a critical and reasoned manner;
Expand their practice capabilities;
Enhance interdisciplinary understanding and collaboration;
Coordinate a successful job search.
