Bryant & Stratton's Associate Degree in Accounting provides students with the technical and critical skills needed to perform accounting functions and processes, including the acquisition, analysis and effective communication of financial information utilized in management decision making. 60 credit hours are required to obtain this degree.
Students will learn how to Interpret and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze, record, and report financial information in a variety of accounting systems; Prepare accounting reports for internal and external users; Analyze and interpret financial reports to assist users in the management decision-making process; Select and utilize appropriate information technology to complete accounting functions; and Employ information literacy skills through the effective use of technology and information resources to accomplish a goal.
Following graduation from this program, students will be prepared to enter such fields as general ledger accounting, managerial accounting and tax preparation. Entry-level positions may be found in the manufacturing, retail and service industries as well as the government sector.
