The Curriculum and Instruction specialization is designed for educators wishing to remain at the leading edge of modern education by using appropriate techniques to motivate and engage learners. C&I enhances teaching efficacy at the elementary or secondary level. Candidates research instructional practices, including brain-based teaching and learning strategies, methods, theories, and interventions. Candidates also explore curriculum development and evaluation. Reading pedagogy, reflective practice, multiculturalism, service learning and integration of technology are emphasized. This program is a 36-credit hour program and no internship is required.
