Eastern Kentucky University recognized this need and has developed the M.S. in Safety, Security & Emergency Management – Occupational Safety degree program. The Occupational Safety Concentration is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a high-level safety position. This program educates students on the personal and environmental risks within the workplace on how to assess, analyze and develop safety, emergency management, security and environmental compliance programs; and how to investigate, manage, and prevent hazards/threats in the workplace. It will prepare graduates for employment in a variety of executive-level safety positions. Our graduates have been hired as managers and directors by major organizations such as Ford Motor Company, Coca-Cola, General Electric, and the Marriott Corporation.
