The emphasis of the MS in Sport Management Studies offered by California University of Pennsylvania is on preparing students for positions of management and leadership within the sport industry. The program recognizes the need for developing the student’s capacity to solve many problems arising from ever-changing economic difficulties, political and regulatory conditions, and marketing strategies. Students study and discuss real-life scenarios to ensure their competency in today’s competitive sport industry. The Facilities & Event Management Track was designed to give students the ability to understand the principles of sport facility planning, design, and management. Students will examine functions related to design, construction, systems and operations, marketing and sales, budgeting, human resources, and security. The courses will build a knowledge base on topics, such as, cost control, revenue streams, personnel, media relations, crisis control, security, and marketing. This track will also provide insight into the important principals of risk assessment and technology application management of sports facilities and events. |
