Degree Title:
M.S. in Midwifery
College:
Philadelphia University
Description:

Philadelphia University is the first school in the U.S. to offer a Master of Science program in Midwifery. This program was designed as a distance-learning program to build upon previous midwifery education and practice. Midwives must be prepared for evidence-based practice, requiring increasingly sophisticated skills in the analysis of knowledge and practice. Today's midwife supports practice with research, respecting both the art and science of midwifery. Changes in the health care environment require midwives to be better informed and to negotiate important changes to improve midwifery care and the health care of women and families.

Certified nurse-midwife or certified midwives will gain the additional knowledge and skills needed for today's health care environment. State-of-the-art communication technology, coupled with the professional expertise of an accomplished and caring faculty, will maximize your individual educational experience. You can remain in your own community as you work toward completing your master's degree in just 12 months.
