The Database Technologies concentration focuses on managing database technologies by developing the necessary skills and knowledge of the most widely used tools for gathering, storing, accessing, and using information. The courses build on a basic knowledge of database management and design and examine data mining and data warehousing; database applications; the internal processes and structures of database management systems; the interface of web-based applications and database technology; the tools and techniques for developing database applications; information security management; and the functions and features of modern relational database management systems from a technical and managerial perspective. Using case studies and working in the lab, this concentration provides a strong command of the competitive business advantages inherent in effectively managing information, a key resource in business today. The program is both on-site and on-line. You must be in New York for some of your classes. Courses include: Information Security Management; Database Design and Management; Database Process and Structure; Data Mining and Data Warehousing; Database Applications; Advanced Database Applications; Database Technologies for Web Applications.

No on-campus time is required. Application through graduation can be done online, plus phone and mail. However, all events, from class dinners to discounted Broadway tickets and executive networking are available to those accessible to the New York area.
