Program Title:
Graduate Certificate in Core Business Competencies
College:
New York University
Description:

This certificate offers an accelerated way to acquire a valuable credential to enhance your qualifications and preparation for professional advancement. Available entirely on-site, online or in a combination of the two, the 18-credit curriculum can be completed in as little as two semesters and provides the broad-based, interdisciplinary knowledge and skill set essential for success in higher level executive roles in national and global organizations.

The five core courses (15 credits)—-in business strategy and ethics, finance, human resource management, information technology, and marketing—-represent the core competencies required to succeed in today's highly competitive global business environment. An important feature of the certificate is the 3-credit elective course requirement.

Based on your professional pursuits you and your advisor select a course from any of the 14 graduate programs offered at NYU-SCPS in order to place the acquired core business competencies in an industry-specific context. Those who complete the certificate with a B average or better, may then choose to apply to one of our Masters degrees. Upon acceptance, and departmental approval, all courses successfully completed will transfer into the M.S. in Management and Systems; Human Resource Management and Development; or other M.S. degree programs offered at NYU-SCPS.
