There are certain skills you need to begin a drafting career using AutoCAD. Penn Foster AutoCAD training helps you learn them quickly and conveniently. Develop these skills and more: Use of basic CAD equipment; coordinate systems and software used with CAD programs; Use of drafting equipment, media, and reproduction methods; Dimensioning, geometric construction, and geometric tolerancing; AutoCAD commands; Electrical and electronic schematic drafting with AutoCAD. And you’ll learn it all at home — no classroom needed! Your program consists of 10 Instruction Modules written to take you step-by-step through the techniques and skills you'll use in your new career. Your first Instruction Module will be sent immediately after your enrollment has been processed. Other Instruction Modules will follow as you complete your exams, so that you will always have training materials to work with. You can earn your Career Diploma in as little as one year, or take up to two years if needed. As a drafter trained in AutoCAD, you can work for an engineering firm or government agency. Mechanical, architectural, and civil engineering firms all offer opportunities for drafters to use their skills and make excellent salaries.
