The UMass Amherst Division of Continuing Education, in close association with the nationally ranked Sociology Department at UMass Amherst, now offers the Criminal Justice Studies Certificate (CJSC) online. The program provides students a solid foundation in the field of criminal justice, and is intended to attract women and men whose present or future careers range from law enforcement, to probation, to the courts, to corrections. The program focuses on criminal behavior by citizens, government officials, and corporations. Students are required to take a total of 6 courses (3 credits each), including Criminology (Sociology 241) and Sociology of Law (Sociology 323), and four upper-level criminal justice courses.
