UMass Online's Software Development and Design Certificate Programs will provide participants with knowledge of tools, techniques, and theory associated with software development. This program provides an understanding and breadth of knowledge of software engineering as well as an understanding of fundamental issues associated with software engineering of parallel and distributed software systems. The five courses that students take for this certificate are compatible with MS degree requirements for Computer Science, enabling certificate recipients to transition to the degree program without loss of credit.
