The Lehigh University BioOrganic Principles of Pharmaceutical Science graduate-level certificate program has been developed for employees dealing with drug discovery and evaluation issues who work in pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device manufacturing companies. The certificate covers the basic biochemical molecular principles governing drug design, synthesis, mode of action at biological targets, formulation, and metabolism. Students will gain enhanced knowledge regarding bioorganic principles related to pharmaceutical science.

Students need four courses for a total of 12 credits to complete certificate. Students will take any four of the following for certificate completion: Advanced Organic Chemistry, Elements of Biochemistry I, Elements of Biochemistry II, BioOrganic Chemistry, Medicinal & Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Organic Reactions, Topics in Organic Chemistry, Advanced Topics in Chemistry, Topics in Biochemistry, Process Chemistry. *Note: Either one of these courses is suggested as a starting point in the program.
