Thank You For Your Interest in Project Working Mom!
Unfortunately, the deadline to apply for a full-tuition scholarship has now passed. Scholarship recipients will be selected on or before October 2010 and will be notified via phone, postal mail, and/or email shortly thereafter by the schools awarding the scholarship. Good luck to you!
On October 1st, the Project Working Mom 2010 scholarship program came to an end. This year marked the fourth and most successful chapter of our scholarship initiative, which aimed to support and inspire the educational goals of working parents across America.
After 3 years, 10 major television appearances, 6 Women Who Rule the World events, and 600,000 applications, Project Working Mom has successfully elevated the issue of adult students’ needs to the level of national discourse. Thanks to Project Working Mom’s many inroads, we’re confident that community leaders and organizations will continue to address the barriers – time, money and confidence – that separate working parents from the higher education opportunities they need.
To date, 245 moms and dads received full-tuition scholarships for online degrees in their various fields. The awards granted through Project Working Mom are worth a combined total of 9 million dollars. And many of the recipients are already using their education to excel professionally.
Although the deadline for Project Working Mom applications has now expired, eLearners is proud to celebrate the response that this program received. We congratulate all the scholarship winners and applicants. And we hope to remind site visitors that the biggest step towards career success comes with recognizing your full potential and addressing your desire to accomplish something meaningful.

My name is Gloria Lewis I am a single mother of 2. My everyday aspirations are for me and my children is to live comfortably, and not to want for anything. With this scholarship i would be able to further my education, and still be productive with my trade. I am a cosmetologist and the demand is not high right now,but everyday a new girl is born into this world with fashion as their forfront. I would like to be that person that one day they will wake up and go to school and see as their teacher, encouraging them to never settle for less and to always want more. I believe if i were to recieve this scholarship i would be able to attain my goals.

hey tyra I know I need your help because I plan on going to college in Janurary, and I never could dress my best. When I was a clild we were so poor that me my sister that is one year younger than me,my brother, and my other little sister that is five years younger than me all had to share clothes. Everyone knew too, because they would come to us and ask " Didn't your sister have that those pants on yesterday?" Then when I got in High school my self-esteem was so low I didn't even try to make myself look pretty because I was afraid of rejection. I didn't think anything was wrong until my friends brought it to my attention, that I look good with my hair down, and that I didn't have to wear jeans and t-shirts for me to be comfortable. I am still worried about a change that I know I need to make, but I don't want to go over board. I know you out of all people would be the best Diva to help some one like me. PLEASE and THANK-YOU!

I just found out about this scholarship when I was checking my e-mail. I would love to know more about it and when it opens again. I want to provide a better future for my daughter and I need the help of a degree to do so. My family really never had much money so college was- how do I word it?- not quite out of my reach if I was able to maintain a scholarship when I graduate in 2009. I didn't maintain a scholarship and ended up pregnant this year. I want to go back to school so bad I can taste it. I want to be someone my daughter can be proud of. And what I don't want is for my kid to be in the first grade and when asked "what does your mommy do?" she say, "she answers phones at pizza hut." I know I'm more than that so let me prove it.

I just discovered your program and even though I am 60 yrs. old, recently divorced and raising a grandchild I haven't had the opportunity to attend college. It's always been my dream to earn a degree in art, but I have put my efforts into raising four daughters and encouraging them to get an education. One is 39 yrs. old and still pushing through her many difficulties to earn her degree. Another is 30 and received a degree several years ago. I would love to set a further example for my eight grandchildren and have them see me do the same. But whatever the case let me say that what you're doing is an amazing and wonderful attempt at supporting young people to be the best they can be. Keep up the good work!

To be able to finish what one has started is always a good thing, but what is even better is to be an excellent role model for the next generation. I have a 6 year old at home who is an excellent student himself but neither of his parents have finished high school and college. To be able to be that existing role model for my son would give the the greastest pleasure on earth. It would give me an opportunity to give back to my community in some many ways, helping other women in need. This chance would not go to waste. I'm a 24yr old mother of twin boys and I'm currently a Pharmacy technician. I was in an accident in 07 and my condition makes it difficult for me to work in my current career. I had plans to return to school before I had found out that I was pregnant and now I am the only income in my home. My husband recently got his ged and does not have enough education to get a job that would make enough to pay for daycare and contribute to the home, so he is an at home dad now. We were on food stamps but since I have moved out of my mothers they are being taken away, even though I pay out more now that before to balance out my 4% increase. I want to go back to school to get my Bachlors degree so I can better provide for my family and not live in fear of loosing my job because of my injuries. I already have so much debt that I can't pay because we live pay check to pay check. I'm praying that an employer would find me a work in progree and take me on to be a pharmaceutical sales rep.

I am a mother, grandma, full time student and work full time. My husband is unemployed and suffers from depression and has disabilities. Darn! Please email me for next time. Thanks Marina

I would greatly appreciate notification when the window for accepting applications is open. I am currently enrolled at a unversity via on-line (finally back in school). I am looking for scholarships to help with my funds so I can eliminate the usage of more student loans I will have to pay back. Currently, I have a son attending college and daughter in high school seeking to go to college in another year. Thanks for all that you do. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by any and all recipents.

I am interested to see if I could actually receive a scholarship. I have an 18 month old daughter and another baby girl due on March 21, 2011. I realize that until I receive my degree my family will suffer financially. It would be a blessing to have some help if it really is available.
Very Respectfully,
Priscilla M. Duran

I would like to start earning money for college so I can get into the college that I plan on going to. Also I would like to start my life over and do everything different and have a good paying job so that I will be able to go to college and master in the things that will help me in later life. I could use alot more money than I have at this moment.

I am a 40 year old, just got married in December of 2008 and mother of 4; three of my children are grown-up and out on their own, I have one child still at home. I have worked as a CNA for 20 years and in 2006 I ruptured a disk at L5;S1 and had surgery; I am currently only allowed to lift up to 10 pounds. This means I have to give up the only career that I loved, but in order to get back to work full time I need help to pay for my education. Any help that you can give I would greatly appreciate. I would love to train in Health Information Technology; I would love to attend any college except Kaplan. Thank you for any help that you can provide for me.
Thank you
Jennifer Horsh

I would love to have a full ride scholarship. I want to go back to school and become a teacher i graduated two years ago and time is just wasting. I want my children to have a better life than i did. I don't want to have to struggle and work a dead end job for the rest of my life I want to be a good role model for my 2 children who look up to me for guidance. I want to become a teacher so I can guide other young students to a better future.

Hello, I am a 41 year old mother of three living and one not. They are 18, 6, and 2 years old. I was taking classes for Associates of Science (medical Coding & Billing). I was dismissed from school for insufficient accademic progress, due to too MANY health issues with my children, the death of my sister, and surgeries that my children required. I missed too many classes to pass therefore unable to continue. These issues have been rectified, but I am having problems qualifying for financial aide due to the dismissal. Please let me know when this scholarship will be open again. I really need this help. I want to become a Registered Nurse and work with premature babies in the NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit just like the nurses who helped my son when he was born at 27 weeks gestation. He spent 14 weeks in the hospital and we were treated with care, empathy, and respect. I would like to continue this for other parents, so they know they are not alone and things can go well as long as you do not give up.

I am looking for a full ride Scholarship for my son who was accepted into this very expensive School to play Soccer! Soccer is his dream, and becasue the University is D3, they don't give out athletic Scholarships. Please help us make his dream come true!
