Keisha Lance Bottoms, Atlanta Councilwoman, District 11

Keisha Lance Bottoms has served as a Magistrate Judge (Pro-Hac) and Attorney in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, and first in her Journalism class from Florida A&M University. She received her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law. During her six years as a Judge, Keisha has been among the youngest serving on the State Court bench in Fulton County. She has been an attorney for 15 years and during that time she has worked as a prosecutor, as well as practiced in the areas of criminal, civil, domestic, and juvenile law. Keisha has also served as General Counsel for a multimillion dollar revenue generating company.
Keisha has served as a legal analyst with WXIA-TV (NBC) in Atlanta. She has also worked as a reporter and legal analyst for WGXA-TV (FOX) in Macon, Georgia and WALR- FM in Atlanta during the top rated Tom Joyner Morning Show.
Between sitting on the bench and practicing law, Keisha has found time to serve on numerous non-profit boards, and is very active in her church and several civic organizations. It has been an honor for Keisha to serve the community in which generations of her family have lived. She is the daughter of Sylvia Robinson and the late Major Lance. She is married to Attorney Derek W. Bottoms, the son of Lawrence and Celestine Bottoms. They are the parents of two wonderful children, Lance and Langston.
Among her many honors and awards, Keisha was named one of 10 Outstanding Young People of Atlanta based upon her professional achievements and dedicated community service.
