Molly Haan, Project Working Mom Scholarship Winner

I am a 36 year old mother of three boys. They are 14, 12 and 7. I was downsized from a middle management position with a very comfortable income last summer. I worked for the corporation for five years and received three promotions and several professional awards within the company as well as the community during that time. Prior to that position I worked my way from sales manager to Director of Sales and Regional Revenue for Holiday Inn.
I did not finish college in my twenties. I chose family first, then as life happens I worked in to positions that fulfilled me as well as compensated me in a manner that satisfied my family needs.
At this time I need to change my direction and use the management skills along with business skills I have developed in my career to obtain an education that prepares me for the ever evolving needs of the working world in America. As a single mom this is always a challenge, but seems to be a bigger challenge now due to financial constraints than in the past when income was easier to obtain to offset the need for continuing education.
