Vanessa Baker, Project Working Mom Scholarship Winner

I have recently found my biological father.
He has planted the seed of interest for web design. Since finding him in June 2009, I have felt complete in discovering the missing half of me. Our story can be seen at www.vanessa.haywardjohnson.com, under "my dad" and haywardjohnson.com, under "photo essay".
He arrived to Pennsylvania from Georgia, planning on only staying one week. One week turned into one month due to car trouble and vanessa.haywardjohnson.com was the result of that visit. He sat with me and shared his knowledge and patiently invested his time to help me create my website.
One of my desires is to "carry the torch", and make him proud. I feel I would better be able to do that with a structured web design program.
I also wanted to use my miracle experience in finding my dad to encourage others fathers of daughters, to make quality time for them. Every daughter needs her father.
An online program would enable me to still be available at home for my 2 boys. My husband and I have agreed that I would stop working as a Registered Nurse to raise our boys.
Thank you for your consideration.
Vanessa Baker
