"I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone."
excerpt of the Hippocratic Oath
The field of education is highly rewarding. It presents the unique opportunity of having a direct impact on younger generations. What you teach, and how you teach will have important repercussions.
Schools and higher education institutions also require strong leadership and management. Administrators, deans, and faculty members are necessary for a school system to operate effectively.

Computer Skills for Distance Learning
I'm pretty comfortable using a computer. How do I know if I have the right skills for an online class?
Colleges and universities have worked very hard to make distance learning user-friendly. Most instructors though very intelligent and leaders in their fields are not tech savvy. Rest assured, it is highly unlikely that your computer skills are not strong enough for an online class.
Talk to your enrollment advisor and ask about the kind of computer skills that are needed for their online classes. Each school is different as is the way they design their online degree programs.
Read about what kinds of technical knowledge is more or less standard for distance learning in our article titled Typical Computer Requirements for Online Students.

"You can do anything you put your mind to. You cannot give up. Just don't give up."
As a working mother of two, Donyell simply does not have time to waste. Distance learning has made a difference to her. She is working towards her bachelor's degree. It hasn't been easy, but it's definitely been worth it.
"I've learned that the most important thing is to just continue to strive harder and harder."
