eLearning FAQ

Is eLearning high quality?

At eLearners.com we believe that the answer is a resounding YES.  However, proving that e-Learning is effective is a very challenging task.  In the following pages, and our other resource sections, we hope to give you a broader understanding of the issues involved.

Consider these quotes from the report titled Sizing the Opportunity - The Sloan Consortium, Sept 2003

"A majority of academic leaders (57%) already believe that the learning outcomes for online education are equal to or superior to those of face to face instruction"

"...nearly three quarters (of all academic leaders surveyed) expect learning outcomes for online education to be equal to or better than face to face instruction (in the next three years)."

59.6% of faculty surveyed "accept the fact and legitimacy of online education" and another 21.3% are neutral to that statement.

In the next question we will list some of the pros and cons of online learning as stated by a wide variety of sources.  This section will give you a better idea of some of the issues the research has yet to adequately prove.

Our section entitled " How is it different from the traditional classroom?" will help to put some of these quality issues into perspective.  This section will help you to visualize how learning may be different in a virtual classroom.

Finally, we will take a brief look at the future of learning.  In particular we will take a look at some predications of how online learning may look by the year 2005.
