How to Apply to California College San Diego

Applying to CCSD starts by speaking with an admissions consultant. Advisors want to make sure you find a degree program that you can feel passionate about. To start the process, consultants will chat with you and may ask you about your professional and educational goals. You can ask any additional questions you might have about the school.

CCSD has an open admissions policy, which means a noncompetitive admissions process. As such, the only criterion for entrance is a high school diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate. Applicants must also submit copies of their high school diploma or GED® certificate.ii

California College San Diego Enrollment

Of the students who were accepted in 2016, 975 enrolled in CCSD. Demographically, 54% of enrolled students were female and 46% were male. Additionally, of students enrolled in fall 2015, 33% were 24 years old or younger. The remaining 67% of students were 25 years or older. With such a diverse student population, traditional and adult learners alike may find a beneficial path for pursuing their academic goals.iii

Financial Aid at California College San Diego

Whether you’re new to the college experience or a pro, you may be concerned about the price tag. CCSD will walk you through finding and applying for financial aid, to see if you qualify. In fact, you’ll be introduced to a financial planner at CCSD during your interview process. Our goal is to make the process as easy to understand as possible!

In the 2014–2015 school year, 89% of full-time, beginning undergraduate students received financial aid.iii Of these students, about 80% received a grant or scholarship.iii;iv Financial aid could include the following for those who qualify:

Faculty at California College San Diego

Faculty members at CCSD are industry-skilled instructors who have real-world experience in their field. Many of these instructors could be important contacts as you begin your own professional journey.

California College San Diego employs 22 full-time and 52 part-time faculty members. The faculty is devoted to preparing students to pursue rewarding careers in their chosen field, rather than taking time away from class time to conduct outside research.iii As a result, students may have more access to professors outside of class.

Career Services starts working with you from the moment you are accepted into the program. That way, you can work as a team to develop a plan to pursue your professional goals.

And the help doesn’t stop after graduation. As you begin to transition into the real world after college, advisors can help you prepare for your next professional step. Career Services can also provide services like resume building and mock interviews.

In addition, you will have access to CCSD’s online job portal. This job search site collects recent postings and deposits them into one convenient portal, so you can seamlessly begin your hunt for the perfect job!

CCSD Graduation

Students at CCSD may study at a pace that works for them. For example, among first-time students who began their studies in 2010, 26% graduated on time, while an additional 26% graduated within 150% of their “normal” time. The amount of time it takes you to complete your selected program may vary by area of study, degree type, and personal preference.iii
