Hondros College of Nursing is a private, for-profit institution that specializes in nursing programs at the diploma/certificate, associate’s degree, and bachelor’s degree level. Located throughout Ohio, it offers online and on-campus options. Hondros College offers three primary nursing programs:
- The Practical Nursing (PN) Program
- The Registered Nursing (RN) Program
- The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
In the 2015-2016 school year, 515 students earned an undergraduate certificate to become a PN, 303 students earned an associate’s degree to become an RN, and 93 students earned a B.S. in Nursing.

Tuition and Financial Aid at the Hondros College
As of 2017, earning a certificate to become a PN cost students $18,000 in tuition. The program required students to earn 48 credits.iii Earning an associate’s degree in nursing to become an RN cost students $25,010 in tuition. The program required students to earn 61 credits.iv Earning a bachelor of science in nursing cost students $20,880 in tuition. The program required students to earn 116 credits.v
In the 2015-2016 school year, 72 percent of full-time undergraduate students received grant or scholarship aid to attend Hondros College of Nursing. Eighty-seven percent took out federal student loans.ii
Enrollment at the Hondros College of Nursing
In fall 2016, Hondros College of Nursing had 1,642 enrolled students. Of those students, 59 percent attended classes full-time and 41 percent attended classes part-time. Seventy-one percent of students were aged 25 and older. Eight percent enrolled entirely in online classes and 26 percent enrolled in at least some online classes.ii

The Hondros College of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. For programs at the baccalaureate level, it has been accredited since 2012.ii
