Balanced approach to IMAT training
Combining classroom instruction and hands-on, technical experience is an essential part of the training you can receive from Institute of Technology’s Industrial Maintenance and Automated Technology (IMAT) program. In addition to troubleshooting techniques and procedures for mechanical and electrical applications, our training includes focus in the following areas:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Load calculations
- Liquid piping
Vital safety considerations, including electrical maintenance, building, OSHA and health codes are included in the program as well.

Our comprehensive training program can prepare you to perform mechanical and electric repair, welding and preventive maintenance in industrial or commercial settings. As a graduate of our Industrial Maintenance and Automated Technology program, you can have the skills and knowledge required to begin your new career in industrial maintenance, inspection, servicing and service repair of complex mechanical systems.
Upon completion of the IMAT program, you will receive an Associate in Occupational Studies degree. Also, a tool kit is included in the cost of the program so that you can be prepared to start work right after the program, armed with the skills, knowledge and tools necessary to begin your new career.
