Recently awarded the silver medal in Best Practices in the Distance Learning Programming category by the U.S. Distance Learning Association, for the eLearning degree program in historic preservation, SCAD eLearning also was awarded the Instructional Technology Council's Outstanding Course Award and the National Academic Advising Association's Certificate of Merit.

    SCAD eLearning courses are taught by highly qualified professors who, online and on campus, guide students toward academic and professional success. Eighty percent of SCAD faculty hold terminal degrees and 89 percent are full time. Every SCAD professor offers the professional experience, academic credentials, expertise and passion for teaching that are characteristic of the SCAD faculty. Professors actively teach, publish academic papers, work as professional artists and designers and exhibit their work in museums and galleries.

SCAD eLearning courses follow a 10-week quarter system. Courses are partially asynchronous which means that while there are definite start and end dates each quarter, there are no specific times for students to login to their courses.

Technical Requirements:
Students must possess basic computer skills and have regular access to computer hardware, software and Internet connectivity. Specific degree and certificate programs may require additional hardware, software, operating system and browser requirements
Geographic Restrictions:
There are no geographic restrictions to enroll as a fully online student at SCAD.
On-Campus Requirement:
While SCAD e-Learning students may elect to enroll in on-campus courses, fully online students are not required to study on campus.
Scholarships Offered:
The college administers a number of scholarships for entering students. Scholarship students are expected to be particularly strong and positive leaders, excelling academically and representing the college well within the community.
Loans Offered:
Federal financial aid may be available to degree-seeking and certificate students who are enrolled at least half-time (two classes).
