Online Degree Programs at Everest University Online
About Everest
Everest University Online began its venture into online learning in the winter quarter of 1999 by offering five courses on two campuses. After our initial pilot phase, Everest expanded its online course offerings to include all nine Everest campuses for the winter quarter of 2000. At the same time, we received approval to develop online enrollment for any of the courses within the standardized Business Administration program. In the Fall of 2001, additional approval was granted to offer the Accounting and Criminal Justice programs online.
Since the winter term of 2000, Everest has consistently added courses within these Associate's and Bachelor's degrees. Today all of the courses necessary to complete the degrees are available online, which now includes Master's programs.
The courses are built and maintained on the eCollege platform, which is media intensive and has highly effective pedagogical and course authoring tools. All instructors are required to complete an intensive teacher-training course, which prepares them to teach and/or create a course following specific course construction guidelines.
Benefits of Studying Online at Everest
Everest University Online primarily serves adult students. Many of these students are paying their own way and have concurrently managed careers, family, and personal lives. These students expect to actively participate and be more self-directed in their education.
Online learning allows them to learn and practice a subject that is integral to their educational objectives. It also offers students added flexibility and convenience for the completion of their programs while continuing to manage careers, families, and home lives.
Where in the past students may have had to drop out when employment, travel, family emergencies, or other personal demands interfered, online learning can allow them to continue their programs without interruption.
Faculty Members
Everest employs academically and experientially credentialed faculty who oversee the instruction, evaluation, and grading requirements. Faculty members possess the credentials required by the accrediting agency, ACICS. In addition, all online faculty must participate in a course which prepares them to teach online. Trained faculty members oversee the cyber classroom, control course delivery and the evaluation and grading of students.
