Studying Online at Franklin Pierce University

What hours is my online course available?

One of the key benefits of an online course is that it is ALWAYS available, 24 hours a day. This is not to say that you will be able to stay up for a week straight and do a semester's worth of work. In most cases, units will be made available only for a certain amount of time. This encourages students to move through the course together and to interact with each other. Our experience with online education has shown that interaction with other students and the course instructor is a key ingredient to a successful online learning experience.

How will I contact my instructor?

Each instructor is different and for each online class you could be asked to contact your instructor in a different manner. You may be asked to communicate via email or through your journal. Some professors have online office hours in the chat room, while others might ask students to schedule conference calls. Your instructors will let you know which of these options are available and which they prefer.

Accreditation

Franklin Pierce University is regionally accredited by NEASC-CIHE, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (209 Burlington Road, Bedford, MA 01730; 781-271-0022).
