Welcome to Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU)
Hawai'i Pacific University is an independent, not-for-profit, coeducational, nonsectarian, career-oriented post secondary institution founded in 1965. Our online education courses integrate interactive and engaging online activities with available online tools and instructional techniques to develop effective learning communities.
HPU offers the Master of Arts in Organizational Change and the Master of Business Administration programs completely online. These online programs replicate our "traditional" on-campus classroom-based degree programs. Online courses at HPU are as rigorous as their in-class counterparts and are not structured correspondence courses.
Why Study at Hawai'i Pacific University?
A Quality Online Learning Experience
HPU's online programs provide individuals anywhere with the opportunity to take HPU courses leading to a degree using the World Wide Web. Our distance learning courses are available wherever you can access the Internet.
HPU's online courses require students to respond to all posted assignments and participate regularly. As in traditional, face-to-face courses, you should expect to spend a considerable amount of time studying outside of class. While time requirements for individual students and courses may vary considerably, a typical three semester credit course will generally require a minimum of nine to twelve hours of study per week.
Students enrolled in online programs and courses can expect that instructors will use a variety of web-based tools such as discussion forums, e-mail, real-time chat, multimedia presentations and online assessment tools to facilitate student learning as well as student-to-instructor and student-to-student(s) interaction. Students enrolled in an online course should be: able to work independently, self-motivated, goal-oriented, able to prioritize workload, skilled in reading and writing, and able to follow directions in completing complex tasks.
Military Friendly
Hawai'i Pacific University welcomes our veterans with military-friendly classes, convenient course scheduling, and support services to help you reach your educational goals. Military personnel, family members, and Department of Defense employees are eligible for the military programs.
