Saint Leo University's Center for Online Learning was established in October of 1998 to meet the growing needs of adult student. We now have over 5,000 matriculated students and are one of the largest providers of higher education to the military. Saint Leo has been named one of America's Best Universities by U.S. News & World Report.
Through distance education, we are providing students with the opportunity to advance their education without having to travel to a traditional campus. Thus, we have active students around the world! All of our students receive the same educational degrees as campus-based students.
With Saint Leo University's programs, classroom attendance is never required. Set your own weekly study schedule and "attend class" anytime - anywhere you have access to a PC. Work and family responsibilities, travel, shift changes or commuting problems never will interfere with your studies.
Distance Learning Degrees at Saint Leo University
Our courses and programs are offered via the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be accessed using a Pentium-class personal computer, a standard Web browser and an Internet service provider. A student can access one of our Web-based classes wherever the Internet is accessible. This allows us to offer our programs to students who cannot enroll in ground-based programs.
Our Internet "classrooms", while designed with the latest technology, are extremely functional to students and faculty. We have carefully designed each classroom to include all the "digital tools" necessary to ensure an enhanced educational experience. These tools include:
- Video and audio streamed lectures that allow students to view lectures as many times as they choose throughout a semester.
- An asynchronous bulletin board that allows students and faculty to interact on key topics throughout a course.
- Chat rooms that are used by instructors to host "virtual" office hours where students can collaborate real-time with faculty members.
Due to the convenience and variety of our communication methods, many of our students find themselves interacting and participating more in their online courses than they ever did in a traditional classroom!
