Flexibility: At this stage in both your personal and professional life convenience is at a premium. This is why we adapted our on-campus graduate program to a completely online format. Busy adults can complete course work in their own timeframe. Professionals who travel can use their downtime in between meetings or in their hotel room to study. With semesters starting in the fall, spring and summer you can complete your degree in as little as two years with 24 hour access to coursework, lecture examples and study materials.

Faculty: There are no "satellite" faculty members educating UMBC's online IS students. Our faculty comprises the same research-focused educators that teach on campus at UMBC in the university's new ITE (Information Technology and Engineering) Building. As a UMBC online graduate student, you will have access to your instructors and your online advisor for one-on-one guidance, feedback and support. This is designed to make your UMBC online experience a satisfying one while you advance your career.

Community: Distance learning does not mean you have to sacrifice being connected to research and industry news or IS Department research and academic events. As an online student you are always in touch with UMBC's Department of Information Systems. As our online community of faculty, students, alumni, and staff grows you can tap into the information associated with these resources at will, during and well beyond your graduate studies.
