The Black Experience (AFAM 101)
The objectives of this course are to provide a clear understanding of the origins of the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade and the impact of this trade on Africa, Europe, and (Native) America; and to apply this understanding to contemporary American society to examine the roots of our cultural diversity. It is expected that students will be able to draw upon material presented in this class to discuss issues of current and historical interest.
