Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology covers the various ways by which different body structures maintain normal, healthy functioning. Students explore questions such as: How do muscles make the bones of the skeleton move? What happens to injured bones, and how are they repaired? How does the body respond to injury? How does the body defend itself against bacteria and viruses? Why do hormones act only on certain tissues and not throughout the body? This course meets UNC-Chapel Hill General Education Requirements but does not fulfill the nursing prerequisite, BIOL 252. This course does not include lab, which cannot be taken as an individual course on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus |
