eLearners.com® is a Web site that connects individuals to the best online learning providers for their needs. We offer users a comprehensive searchable database of courses and degrees, plus resources to help them make wise educational decisions. We generate revenue primarily through performance-based online marketing services that we offer to the learning providers.
We consider the learner's needs to be an integral part of our mission. eLearners makes it a priority to provide a quality educational service that assists potential students with the decisions they face, rather than just seeking to maximize revenue using aggressive marketing techniques. Our resources include a comprehensive free e-mail newsletter geared towards different audiences, original content articles on pertinent student issues, and a comprehensive database that list comparable details about specific courses and degrees. This contrasts with the strategy of many of our competitors, who offer no distance learning resources, and only limited information about educational offerings. Their strategy results in more requests for information (for which they get paid), but ultimately less qualified prospects for their partner schools. This maximizes revenue effectively in the short term, but ultimately is not a good long-term strategy because it doesn't serve the needs of learners or educational providers.
The answer is a definite yes. However, online learning is a relatively new phenomenon and it varies a great deal based on the technology and theories that the educational experience is designed around. When the instructional design and student support services are high quality, online learning can be as good as or better than traditional classroom learning. We say it can even be higher quality, because the nature of online learning often requires instruction to include more discussion, be more project based, and be more focused on the learner than the instructor.
Late in 2000, we were one of the only companies that were offering performance-based marketing services to the educational marketplace. Over the years we have worked with a wide range of learning providers and developed products and services that meet their needs with the highest possible return on their investment. Also, these providers know that we're not just a marketing company out to sell advertising. We deliver quality services to our users, and they want to benefit from our service.
We have a quarter of a million to a million unique users per month. These users represent a wide range of individual needs, but most are adults ages 25-50 that are employed full-time, have a bachelor's degree or at least some completed college course work. They are searching for online courses or degrees, or are interested in learning more about distance learning, and they are using eLearners to help them with this process.
We currently have 208 educational partners that range from accredited colleges and universities to training and continuing educational providers. Some of the higher educational institutions include University of Phoenix Online, Walden University, Western Governors University, and Capella University.
